Getting found is not just about online presence.
Like it or not, today businesses need to have an online presence. But more importantly, they need to get found on the Internet. More and more people go to Google, or other search engines to look for information, shop, or be entertained. If your business provides any of these things, then you want to be found when someone looks for what you offer.
Have you tried to search for your product or service without searching with your very specific business name? If someone didn't know your business, but wanted what you offer, would they find you?
Get found by people who don't know you.
People who know your brand can find you easily by using your company name. But what about the masses who aren’t familiar with you? For example, as a skin specialist if you didn’t have a web page for acne chances are your company wouldn’t come up in a search for ‘acne treatments.’ A lost opportunity because you are not getting found. Just think of all of your products and services. Is each of them getting found? More missed opportunities.
Remember that the first step in acquiring a lead or a customer it to get found —you want to come up in a search on the first page and preferably within the top five listings. So make sure you do the things that will get you found and ultimately increase your traffic. Just having a website won’t do it.
